Halloween in Toronto 2026: how to do the Saturday-night Halloween weekend

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the city gets two full party nights, a trick-or-treat night with no school the next morning, and an extra hour when the clocks fall back. Here’s how to plan it, night by night.

EnjoyHere editorsUpdated Monday, October 26, 2026

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Toronto is making a weekend of it. Church Street throws a two-night party on Friday and Saturday, Casa Loma's Legends of Horror runs its last two nights with early family hours, and kids can trick-or-treat on Saturday with no school the next morning. Sunset on the 31st is at 6:09pm. Ontario's clocks also fall back an hour at 2am on Sunday, November 1, so the late parties get an extra hour.

We started with the hundred-plus Halloween listings on EnjoyHere Toronto for October 26 to November 1. From those we picked the events worth crossing town for, then checked the big-ticket dates and rules against the organizers' own pages. Below: three ready-made plans, our picks by category, the trick-or-treat streets locals rate, and the practical details (sunset, the Church Street closure, the time change) that will shape your night.

Friday, Oct 30: warm-up night

  1. 7pm

    Casa Loma in Toronto

The 10th-anniversary edition of the haunted castle walk runs from 7pm until late. Online tickets for the final weeks are $55, or $60 at the door, so buy ahead.

    Casa Loma, Toronto

Toronto’s castle haunt is in its 10th year, and it’s still the one to beat for atmosphere: a scare trail at Casa Loma, 1 Austin Terrace. Standard tickets are $55 online. With kids, go during the actor-free Family Hours.

    Canada's Wonderland

    Vaughan

    Canada's Wonderland, Vaughan

This is the big-production option: scare zones and mazes across a whole theme park. Six Flags doesn’t recommend it for kids under 13, and costumes aren’t allowed after 6pm. A third-party park-hours tracker lists daytime family programming from 11am–5pm on Oct 31 and Nov 1 before Haunt starts at 6pm.

Sunday, Nov 1: pumpkin parades

Toronto has a tradition of setting out the week’s jack-o’-lanterns in a park on November 1 for one last glow (City of Toronto).

Corktown Pumpkin Parade, Sackville Park (Sun Nov 1, 5:30–7pm, then Illuminated Tales 7–8pm). Bring your carved pumpkin to Sackville Park. The Illuminated Tales walk afterwards is pay-what-you-can and passes neighbourhood landmarks, including 505 Queen St E and its Ghostbusters connection.

Degrassi Pumpkin Parade (Sun Nov 1, 6–8pm). At Degrassi Park (125 De Grassi St) in Riverside, with free hot chocolate. Bring a food-bank donation.

Sorauren Park Pumpkin Parade (Sun Nov 1, 6pm). The west end’s version has been running since 2004. Drop off your pumpkin and walk the glowing paths.

Before the weekend: weeknight warm-ups

If one night isn’t enough, the trivia nights start early. Horror Movies Trivia at Cassette (Tue Oct 27, 6:30pm, $13.54) gives the winning team a $100 gift card. On the same night, Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Halloween Heist Trivia takes over The Pint Public House on Front Street at 7:30pm, and it repeats at Eastbound Brewing on Wednesday. On Thursday you can choose between a Día de los Muertos Party with Spurs Night & Baila Sáfica at Lula Lounge, with salsa, bachata and line-dance lessons plus a costume contest, and Zombie Wrestling at The Great Hall.
